The parish of Crundale comprises just over 648 hectares (1,600 acres) in the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in two valleys divided by a ridge on which stands the 11th Century Parish Church.  Crundale is a scattered rural community, but the majority of people live in the hamlets of Crundale and Sole Street.  The church is some way outside both settlements; its isolation may be indicative of a pre-Augustinian site of pagan worship in Saxon times. The community of Crundale is small, but there is a committed core congregation and PCC with active office holders, who receive much support from those outside the worshipping community.
