Chilham St Mary's Church Choir

Chilham St Mary's has a choir that sings at the weekly 11am Sunday service and meets every

Thursday evening to practice. The choir has been involved in concerts, weddings, flower festivals,

and many other celebrations and events.

Chilham's choir came in to being in 1974 when the vicar Rev. Everand Evans asked parishioner Chris Godfrey if he could start one. Since then the choir has taken many forms and seen different seasons in the church's life. Chris ans his wife are still singing with us now and another original member, Mark Harding, was also running the choir up until Easter 2015 when he decided to take a break to develop his professional music career.

Now run by organist Philip and newest choir member Sarah, the choir sings every Sunday, practices each Thursday, sings at weddings and many other celebrations. The choir is always open to new members and we are currently looking for some tenor voices to join the ranks. Please contact Sarah on if you are interested.

Slightly Serious Concerts

The choir is emmensley proud of being involved in Chilham's famous 'Slightly Serious' concerts. After such sucess the annual event now happens every six months and sees a host of local talent come together to perform for free. The Baroque Quintet, Handball Ringers, OWL Community Choir and gifted soloists regularly showcase their hard work at the event and there is always an impressive turn out for the evening. The donations collected from delighted audience members goes to the church funds and so incredibly appreciated by the church community.
